The following are guide lines for the team series:
Purpose: To help promote the States tracks by offering incentives for a team based competition. It is open to all ABA registered riders who are part of a team or choose to form a team for this series. All rules set forth must be followed by the participating teams. In the event of a condition not covered by the program guidelines would arise the track director from each participating track would meet to settle the issue.
- For the purpose of promoting and attracting riders this year we would use each tracks State Qualifying Races. Series will take the best 5 scores from the 8 qualifiers.
The Team series race dates are as follows:
- Rum River BMX – Isanti June 22nd
- RRVBMX – Dilworth– July 12th
- St. Michael BMX – July 19th
- Mankato Area BMX – July 26th
- Faribault BMX – July 26th
- Brainerd Lakes BMX – July 27th
- Pineview Park BMX – St.Cloud Aug 3rd
- I94 BMX – Fergus Falls – Aug 9th
Each team would need to submit its team roster to the “series coordinator” at their first race of the series. The teams could consist of any Registered ABA rider. There must be a minimum of 5 riders per team. Your team must have a novice or an intermediate rider on its roster for the series. Each team sheet must have one girl and no more that 2 Factory/Nag riders. See the scoring criteria for detail about this condition.
- This series is for all riders and teams from across the state of Minnesota (not just riders from the series hosting tracks) This years Series Coordinator is Brent Schiefert, from I-94 BMX. His contact information is as follows; e-mail: I94bmx@yahoo.com
or by phone – H-218-739-6553 or C 218-205-1275
- From the team roster each team could submit two team sheets per race with only the highest score counting towards that days points. Points would be based on the series daily points table listed below. There would be 5 riders per scoring sheet with the 5th spot for a girl only.
Note the change for this year, only two Factory Team/Nag riders will be allowed per team sheet.
- At each race the team could change its scoring sheet roster from the riders on its team roster. They could also add riders to there team roster as long as the rider being added is not already on someone elses roster. This would allow teams to fill out scoring sheet if a rider could not make it. Once on a team’s official roster you can not ride for any other team in the series. All roster additions would need to be sent to Brent Schiefert 2 days prior to the race or initialed by the host tracks track director on the day of the event.
- Team with the highest team score at the end of the series is the winner. We will award trophies to the top six teams in the series.
- Each track can still run its own team trophy daily race at its state qualifier if it wants to as long as the awards were not greater than the series awards. The Team series would be above and beyond the regular team comps that normally take place at the involved tracks.
- All participating tracks will promote all the races in the series and facilitate the race at there event. They would then forward the results to the series coordinator. The coordinator would then finalize the results forward them to the participating tracks and media outlets who would post them on there web-sites.
- At the end of each race the teams would be awarded points towards the series standings based on the table attached. Each team will earn points at the races in the series and there top five finishes for the series will count toward the series championship.
The series championship awards will be handed out at the State Championship finals at the end of the summer. So teams should plan on attending to receive your awards.
